Imagine a wobbly table with a singular glass of water, filled all the way to the top, sitting in the middle of that wobbly table. Now imagine someone bumping that wobbly table. No imagination necessary to predict what happens next. Water spills out all over the table and probably all over the floor. The bigger the bump, the bigger the wobble, and bigger the spill. We are a wobbly table, no matter how perfect we may think we are. We are also filled with something. And when life bumps into us, that something spills out. If we are filled with love, love spills out. If we are filled with negativity and bitterness, those unfortunately spill out.
Lord, help me to be filled with those things that I want to spill out all over other people when they bump into me.
