If Christmas Day didn't happen, then Easter Day would never have happened.
Lord, thank you for coming and for sacrificing your life for me.
“He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.” Matthew 28:6
If Christmas Day didn't happen, then Easter Day would never have happened. Lord, thank you for coming and for sacrificing your life for me.

“In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David.” Luke 1:26-27
We love to plan out our own lives. Then we realize that God has different plans for us. Better plans. Huge plans that don't necessarily benefit us but benefit many others. Lord, help me to realize that when my plans don't work out, it is not necessarily because something went wrong but that You probably have a much better plan for me. “The angel went to her [Mary] and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.’” Luke 1:28
Not alone for CHRISTmas! Lord, thank you for Jesus! "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." 1 Peter 3:15
Jesus is the Answer! Amen! "But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.''' 1 Samuel 16:7
Look at the Heart! Lord, help me to look at the heart! “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
You know you are stubborn when you are told to do something that benefits you and you would rather be stubborn than to do it. God doesn't suggest that we be strong and courageous. God actually commands us to do it. God always commands us when we are too stubborn (or stupid) to do something. Lord, help me to value You and what You deem to be right over my own selfishness/stubborness. “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus- the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” Acts 20:24
We have one job to do. Lord, help me to realize what my true job is and help me to do it. “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.” -Philippians 4:4-6
Joy is a choice. Sadness, anger, frustration, disappointment, bitterness, anxiety, and an array of other emotions are a reaction to the circumstances that surround us. Joy is an attitude that we choose to have because we choose to follow Jesus. Lord, I choose You and I choose to be joyful, despite what I may be going through. "Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men." Colossians 3:23
Let's be honest, we don't always bring our complete 100%. We mail it in more than we bring our "A" game. Our motivation (or lack of) tends to determine the level of our effort. When we value something, we invest more. We should always value God, thus, we should always bring our "A" game in all the we do. Lord, help me to value You enough to be more enthusiastic in all that I am blessed to do. "And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." Philippians 1:6
Certainty is a blessing, in a world that is defined by uncertainty. Lord, thank You that I can trust that Your work in me will continue until it is finished. |
