This verse can either be depressing and defeating or encouraging and empowering. If we place our value and self-worth in our own accomplishments and what we are capable of doing, then this verse basically tells us that we are wasting our time. However, if we believe that our talents are given to us by God and when we seek Him for assistance in utilizing those talents, then we are able to do great things and we should be filled with confidence.
Lord, thank you that I am not left to my human frailties and my own devices to accomplish anything and please help me to find my self-worth in You.
