“So, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall. No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it..” 1 Corinthians 10:12-13
Temptation is not a sin. Jesus was tempted. Temptation is simply an opportunity to do the right thing. When we are faced with temptation, we need to see it as a yellow flashing light that says, "Warning! Danger Ahead! Take an alternate route!" It is not a flashing yellow light that says, "Oh well, you are already driving so you may as well run the red light that is coming and then get T-boned by another car."
Lord, help me to realize that temptation is a warning and not the destination and that when I am tempted, You always give me an alternative and way out.
