For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 1:17
God is righteous and he requires us to be righteous. We can not be righteous, no matter how hard we may try on our own. However, God gave us Jesus to bridge the gap between our unrighteousness and His righteousness. That is the deal. We can do nothing to insure righteousness before God. Then what can we do? We can do all we can to show our thanks and appreciation by not taking that gift for granted. When we avoid unrighteousness and pursue loving others, then God is pleased. It is our Thank You note to God. Unfortunately, most of us haven't written a Thank You note in years.
Lord, help me to show that I don't take your gift for granted by Thanking You daily.
