"Never make a decision, sick and tired". "Get some sleep and you will think more clearly in the morning". "Keep your head on a swivel". "Don't drink and drive". All of these are great words of advice. Unfortunately, we are often too emotional to adhere to them. We are emotional beings and when we are tired or overwhelmed, we are vulnerable to our emotions. Evil knows that. So does God. That is why we are instructed to be "patient" and "put on the full armor of God" and "trust" because when we are left to our own devices and especially when we are sick and tired or compromised, we tend to make bad choices.
Lord, help me to be aware and alert and wise so that I don't allow my emotions to be manipulated.
