Seeking comfort is a natural human instinct. It is not natural for us to wake up in the morning and say "How uncomfortable can I get today?" or "I can't wait to see how much discomfort or pain I can feel today". The exact opposite is true. We wake up and try to figure out how easily we can get our tasks accomplished with the minimum inconvenience to our comfortable lives. And that is what leads us to being more prone to settle for where we are in life in contrast to pursuing more. Sure, we want more. However, we often fail to take the uncomfortable steps to earn more.
Lord, thank you for my comfortable life and help me to realize that comfort shouldn't be my goal but pursuing you more should be.
