The "new car smell". The comfort of a new pair of shoes that fit just right. A new pair of glasses with the correct prescription. A new coat of paint on your home. New feels good. New is fresh and exciting. We love new things. How often do we go through our daily routine and it becomes an act of habit or "going through the motions". It is anything but new. May our expressions to God never be routine and monotonous and lack of joy.
Lord, forgive me when I go through the motions and lack the effort to bring a new found joy to my acknowledgment of you and what you have done for me as it is worth a renewed attitude.
