The first step is to admit that we have a problem. This is a fundamental fact. If we don't recognize that a problem exists then we can not be in a position to find the true solution. Pride is one of the largest barriers to admitting that we have a problem or sometimes more importantly, recognizing that we are unable to find a solution on our own. We are far from perfect. That is a fact. It doesn't make us failures; It makes us human. We can be better humans if we allow ourselves to grow and realize that we aren't perfect yet.
Lord, thank you for the grace and understanding that I am a work in progress and please help me to realize that as well.
