"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:7
When iron sharpens iron, it isn't a delicate action. There is a lot of noise and sparks and violent collisions. The same is often true when we make each other better. When we hold others accountable or correct them, it often brings about noise and sparks and a "collision" of personalities. Iron only sharpens iron when the collision happens in a specific manner with intentional actions. When iron is swung haphazardly at other iron, it simply brings noise and sparks.
Lord, help me to help others and help me to be specific and intentional so that I don't merely make noise or bring about sparks.
