Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
God doesn't need to give us Grace and He doesn't need to give us talents. Honestly, He doesn't need to give us anything. Why do we expect God to give us stuff? Because He is God and He is good and He made us? He is God after all and He should always do what I think is right. It is obvious that He should want to give me what I want. However, by that logic, why shouldn't God expect us to give as well? After all, He made us and He gives us stuff. It is obvious that we should be thankful and show that thanks through obedience? Unfortunately, we don't do the right thing. We do the selfish thing. We expect God to act the way we want Him to and yet don't expect ourselves to act the way God wants us to.
Lord, if I choose to use the logic you have blessed me with to make my decisions, please help me to use that logic in a consistent manner and not only when it benefits me.
