A baby cries. A toddler throws a tantrum. A teenager posts a picture on Social Media. An adult ... posts a picture of their kid doing something cool on Social Media. A grandparent .. posts a picture of their grandchildren on Social Media. From birth until we pass away, we crave attention. Hearing is a mechanical function while listening refers to paying attention. One of the best ways that we can pay attention to someone is to not only hear what they say but to listen to what they are saying and that requires listening to their heart more than merely the sound of their words.
Lord, thank You for always listening to me and not merely hearing me and help me to pay attention to what You and others have to say to me.
