No one likes to be told what to do. It starts at birth and it continues for the rest of our lives. When we are told what to do, we get defensive and feel as if our independence is in jeopardy. The truth is that when commands come from those that love us and have our best interest in mind, we should be thankful instead of resistant. We preferred the candy bar to the celery but forty years later, I wish I ate more celery. I need to be told what to do when the alternative option is more fun than what is correct.
Lord, help me to hear your commands and take them as wisdom and not infringement.
