I have purchased two houses myself and have had many friends and family and coworkers buy houses as well. I have never interviewed one neighbor prior to purchasing a house and I have never heard of anyone else taking the time to meet all of their neighbors and getting to know them , prior to signing the mortgage papers. We buy homes and then inherit neighbors. That is why God is so brilliant in using the term "neighbor". We have "neighbors" all around us. People at work. Parents of kids at our kid's school. Classmates. Teammates. In-laws. Our life is full of people who we "inherit" in our life based on other choices we make. God not only suggests but commands that we must learn to have positive relationships with them.
Lord, help me to see that I am not allowed to choose who to love and who not to. You have already chosen for me.
