We can gain confidence ourselves through experience. When we do something and succeed, we tend to trust ourselves and thus have confidence. Or we can derive confidence from others. If we trust them, then we believe what they say and we have confidence in that. The fact is that we let ourselves down and others let us down even more so and that is why confidence is a scarce commodity. God never lets us down and that is why confidence through Christ is so valuable.
Lord, allow me to trust in You so that I may overflow with confidence from You.
