The longer you live on this planet, the more you realize that we humans spend a lot of time preparing for "special events" that we expect to be important and meaningful. Ironically, as we look back, we soon realize that those special events are indeed special but typically aren't as great as we expect and often times are complete flops. However, there are countless moments in our life that simply come about organically and without any fanfare and they end up being the most meaningful and fulfilling experiences we will have. Are we READY for the blessings that God will provide us today or will we be too busy preparing for something else down the road?
Lord, help me to "live in the now" and enjoy today but to also be READY for the surprises that You have for me.
