Making Others Better OR Making Yourself Feel Superior?!

Criticism is not productive unless the only improvement you seek is your own feeling of superiority.  If we truly wish to help others to become better when we notice that they have a flaw, we need to approach them with a spirit of correction.  We need to attempt to help them to see what they need to fix and then give them help to fix it.
