We unfortunately misperceive "sharing" as "giving". "Share that toy with your sibling" is viewed as "Give the toy to your sibling". If our typical perception of giving is that we are "giving up" something, then sharing would result in us perceiving that we have less. However, sharing involves "possessing with another". We aren't "giving up" anything, we are simply allowing others to join with us and have what we have. Life is meant to be a TEAM sport, not an individual competition. Most things in life are more enjoyable when they include another. Our mindset should be that sharing actually adds value to our lives (and to others) instead of depriving us of something. "The miracle is this: the more we share, the more we have." Leonard Nimoy

We all have a brain. Some may be more developed (or less damaged) than others but we all have a brain. It is a fact. What is in question is whether we let our brain control us or we use our brain to make decisions that impact our behaviors and outcomes. "To play the inner game is not really a matter of choice--it is always going on and it is played in various outer games. The only two questions are whether we play it consciously and whether we are winning or losing." W. Timothy Gallwey
Everyone needs a break. A break from work. A break from school. A break from the "day to day". However, if our purpose is more than a "wish" or a "dream", then we should not stray from our purpose, even when we take a break from the tasks of life. "One secret of success is the consistency of purpose." Pat Riley
My least favorite overused and misused phrase in the world is "It is what it is" (My second least favorite by the way is when people use the word "literally" when they are speaking "figuratively".) Regardless of the amount of distain that I have for the "It is what it is" phrase, it does apply to a lot of situations we face in life. The world is what it is and unfortunately it isn't the way we would prefer it to be. However, the phrase is incomplete. We must deal in the realities of the "here and now" and not be paralyzed by our expectations or desires. "Deal with the world the way it is, not the way you wish it was." John Chambers
Flailing your arms around frantically with no purpose will result in little more than sore arms and possibly result in injury. Simply moving does not lead to desired results. We all need purpose and intention. "Never mistake motion for action." Ernest Hemingway
If anyone knows anything about "discipline", it is Bobby Knight (feel free to Google "bobby knight chair throw".)
"Discipline is doing what has to be done, when it has to be done, as well as it can be done, and doing it that way all the time." Bob Knight "The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." Ralph Waldo Emerson
Imagine driving down a completely vacant four lane freeway and constantly changing lanes. The continuous swerving back and forth may be fun but it ends up costing you a lot more time (and gas) to get to your destination. PICK A LANE and stay in it. Always good advice when driving and pursuing our goals. "One secret of success is the consistency of purpose." Pat Riley
Unfortunately, we think easier is better. "Don't wish it were easier, work to get better." Jim Rohn
We all love getting a "twofer". BOGO (buy one get one) is the new marketing tool. Doubling your productivity is desirable in nearly every aspect of life. Be positive and you not only help yourself, but help others. "Positive thinking is more than just a tagline. It changes the way we behave. I firmly believe that when I am positive, it not only makes me better, but it also makes those around me better." Harvey MacKay
