Shame occurs when we feel bad about who we are. Guilt occurs when we feel bad about what we did. It is easier to move on from guilt than from shame. We all make mistakes and need to learn from them and move on from them. Shame not only limits what we can do, but it is often the antithesis of hope and hope will keep us moving forward toward our goals when life is the hardest.
