The condition of scarcity refers to the belief that there are limited resources or that resources are in short supply. Imagine a pie. There is only a limited amount of pieces to go around. Jealousy is rooted in scarcity. We are jealous of others because we feel that they not only have more than we do but that in order for us to have equal or more, we must get it from them. They become our competition. Living under the bondage of scarcity will impede our growth and our joy. Instead of looking at life as a pie that requires "you to get yours", view life as a bakery where you can make endless numbers of pies and either eat them yourself, sell them to others, or give them away. If someone has more pie than me, it helps me to see what is possible so I go out and make my own pie. “People who wonder if the glass is half empty or full miss the point. The glass is refillable.” No specific credit is given to this quote because a bunch of people have said this because it is an obvious statement.
