Over time we CAN get better. However, it is important WHAT we do with that time. There are tons of older people who are not very good at various things. And there are a lot of young people who crush specific aspects of life. Time is only valuable if you invest in valuable things with your time.

"Uncomfortable doesn't mean bad, uncomfortable simply means you're doing something you haven't done before," Joe Vitale When we seek comfort, we seek being 'basic" and reaching our goals will be impossible unless we set "basic" goals. When we choose discomfort, we choose to achieve more than our most ambitious goals. "Be comfortable being uncomfortable." says anyone who has ever been successful in anything in life.
Preparation is essential to success. At some point you need to start the car and start driving or you end up idling in the driveway wasting gas and time. 'If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done.' - Bruce Lee
We can either waste time or we can spend our time wisely. However, when we see "time as money" or at least see our time as being a valuable resource, and that when we invest that time in valuable endeavors, we will see much larger returns on our investment of time. The key is in not spending time, but in investing it. – Stephen R. Covey.
“The human capacity for burden is like bamboo – far more flexible than you’d ever believe at first glance.” — Jodi Picoult
Today may be a rough day. We all need to be reminded that life is hard and it is supposed to be full of tough days. By design, we have been created with the capacity to handle a lot more than we think. By design, each time we handle hard things, we get better handling hard things. “On the other side of a storm is the strength that comes from having navigated through it. Raise your sail and begin.” Gregory S. Williams The more that I live on this planet, the more I see that people spend too much time reliving their past (shame, guilt, regret, victimization, trauma, etc) and much less time pursuing their future. Life sucks and bad things happen but often times, a poor decision or a wrong perpetrated on us steals more time and joy and success than the small amount of time that those negative experiences took themselves. We owe it to ourselves to live in the present and for the future and not allow the past to dictated our existence. "Every day is a new beginning, a fresh try, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning" J. B. Priestley
Contrary to popular belief, we all have a brain. Some brains function better than others due to proper sleep and nutrition and lack of mind numbing scrolling on the "smart" phone. But even the least efficient cranium has the ability to make good or bad choices equally. The variable is our emotions. Do we allow our emotions to make decisions for us or do we allow our functioning brains to make the decisions. "Whatever choice you make makes you," Roy T. Bennett
What is the leading cause of death for those lost in the wilderness? It isn't dehydration. It isn't hypothermia. It isn't being eaten by a bear. No. It is Shame! People feel as if it is their fault ("What did I do?" "How did I get myself in this situation"' "I am so stupid") and they shut down instead of finding a solution to their problem. The same is true in most aspects of life. Instead of asking for help, we feel shame for not being able to fix our own problems. "Asking for help is a power move. It’s a sign of strength to ask and a sign of strength to fight off judgment when other people raise their hands. It reflects a self-awareness that is an essential element in braving trust.” Brené Brown
"It's your reaction to adversity, not adversity itself, that determines how your life's story will develop" by Dieter F. Uchtdorf Unfortunately, we wake up each morning and hit the snooze or "need our coffee" or skip the workout or push off time with God to "later" or grab a donut instead of a healthier breakfast option. We seek comfort from the first minute we wake up. Success is found through failure and failure happens when we risk and risks happen when we choose to believe that being uncomfortable should be the goal of the day and not being comfortable and safe and easy. “Do one thing every day that scares you.” Eleanor Roosevelt
