Our minds wander. Our minds need to wander sometimes. However, imagine a person wandering in a desert. That person may stumble upon an oasis but they are more likely to die of thirst. If we have goals, wandering is not the best plan. "Your life is controlled by what you focus on" Tony Robbins

Speed helps. So does strength. Understanding your body in space is beneficial. Being smart doesn't hurt either. However, non of these matter if we aren't coachable. “My best skill was that I was coachable. I was a sponge and aggressive to learn.” Michael Jordan
We don't need to wait until January 1 for a fresh start. If we don't like something in our life, we can start today a new habit, path, goal or attitude. "You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down." Mary Pickford
Stress is "any demand placed on your mind or body". We stress our muscles to get stronger. We stress our heart and lungs by running to get more fit. We stress our minds to get smarter. We stress our brains so that we learn to become more mentally tough and resilient. If you want an easy life then you want to undergo a ton of stress so that you will be able to handle the hard stuff in life, better. You won't ever avoid the hard stuff, so you may as well prepare for it. If you want a difficult life, choose easy things and you will struggle every single day. “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” —Fred DeVito
Instead of saying "I Can't", simply say "I choose not to". Because that is what you actually mean. My dear friend, clear your mind of can't. Samuel Johnson
An unfortunate reality in life is that we work hard and accomplish so much, yet we find ourselves disappointed and discontent simply because we aren't constantly moving in an upward to the right positive progression. Understanding how far we have come and putting it in the proper perspective will protect us from unwarranted disappointment when we make worthy accomplishments that should be celebrated. . “Someone else is happy with less than what you have.” — Anonymous
“You did not wake up to be mediocre.” Unfortunately, a huge chunk of the world's population wakes up each morning with no goals or aspirations or dreams. They wake up and hope that they aren't made too uncomfortable and that they aren't inconvenienced too much. The world punches these people in the face and they go to bed hoping tomorrow doesn't suck as bad as today. This sounds like a miserable way to go through life. "Make the day; Don't let the day Make you!"
Control what you can control, Pray about the rest! "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength" Corrie Ten Boom
Momentum begets momentum, and the best way to start is to start. Gil Penchina
Something moving fast in one direction is very difficult to stop. It is even more difficult, if not impossible, to reverse it's direction. We tend to underestimate the importance of momentum in our lives. When we have momentum (things are going well) we must lean in and take advantage of it. Ride the wave!!!! In contrast, when the momentum seems to be going the other way (in a negative direction), the best solution is to first STOP the negative momentum and then once that is accomplished, start moving in the positive direction. You don't shift a car from reverse to drive You shift to neutral first. The same is true with our brains. But once we are in drive, we need to keep pressing the vertical pedal on the right. If you wait too long, you miss them" William Arthur
Life is FULL of opportunities. We have more opportunities than we can even imagine. Unfortunately, most of those opportunities are disguised as failures or unmet expectations. What would happen if every time we are tempted, we see it as an opportunity to make a correct decision and to do the right thing. How would our day be different if we recognize every mistake or failure as an opportunity to learn and grow. What new adventures would we have if every time we felt the world was unfair or against us, we saw this as an opportunity to lean in and take control of our lives and make our own path, instead of waiting for someone to hand us a free lunch. "If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door" - Milton Berle |
