Intent matters. We can often behave appropriately without the correct attitude behind those actions. Anyone can write a check to a charity to appease their guilt. We can take a few seconds to hold the door open for someone and even give the fake smile while at the same time thinking to our selves "could they walk a little faster, I have somewhere to be". We can go to church, pray to God and serve others and see those actions as items on a list that need to be checked off.
Lord, please help me to behave how you want me to behave but also help my attitude to be intentionally fixed on you as I act.
