When you are a kid, running up the down escalator was always a fun challenge. As an adult, it is a lot of work and tiring and often times unsuccessful.
Lord, help me to realize that attempting to follow the world instead of following You is like running up the down escalator and although it may seem fun at first, it will leave me tired and right where I started.
