Most people understand the concept of "You reap what you sow". Again, "most" people. There are still a vast minority of people who still don't get it and think that life will magically work out in their favor, no matter what they do. However, even those who do understand the typical "cause and effect" of life are often misconceived to think that we either "always reap what we sow" or that "we will reap what we sow when we want it or in our timing." Sowing takes effort and time for the reaping to occur but usually more effort and time than we expect. Sowing is hard and so is reaping because it requires labor and patience.
Lord, thank you that my labor will result in fruit but help me to realize that it is "labor" and not merely "effort" that will produce fruit.
