“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Why is it that whenever something happens in our life that we don't want to happen, we act surprised and upset and as if we were drastically wronged? Life is not fair and God makes it clear when he says that we "will have trouble" not that we "may occasionally have trouble". And maybe that is the problem. We are not surprised by the "trouble" but by the frequency of that trouble. Maybe we need to look more at what we are doing to cause our own trouble and instead of blaming God for all of our troubles, we should thank Him for granting us peace from them.
Lord, forgive me for being so upset when trouble comes my way, especially troubles I bring upon my self and thank you for always providing peace, even when I don't accept it.
