We often give ourselves too much credit for not quitting. "At least I didn't quit". Well, not finishing is sometimes as bad as quitting and arguably worse. We may come to the end of a task but that doesn't mean we finished it. There is a big difference between coasting across the finish line and sprinting 10 yards beyond the finish line. Staying married isn't the same as loving your spouse unconditionally. Going to class isn't the same as paying attention and studying. Calling ourselves a Christian isn't the same as trusting God when it seems impossible to trust.
Lord, help me to not only continue on but to finish strong.
