It is not MY light that shines but the light of Jesus shining through me ... when I allow it to by getting out of the way. Lord, help me to be a window for Your light and not a cave trying to hide it.

The longer you live and the more people you know, the more you realize that you will come across many people in your life that you will say, "it is hard to believe that (insert name) will ever change" and then later on say "(insert same name) has never changed". But it is also true you will come across an equal number of people that you will say, "I never thought (insert name) would change and they are now a completely different human being." Lord, thank You for having the power to change ANYONE! “For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.” Hebrews 12:3
... Nobody!!!! The fact is that life is hard. The fact is that it could be much worse. Focus on what you have and not what you don't. Lord, thank You so much!!!!! “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name. For the LORD is good, and his faithful love endures forever, his faithfulness through all generations.” Psalm 100:4-5
When was the last time you thanked someone for WHO THEY ARE instead of for WHAT THEY DID FOR YOU! Lord, thank You for being a loving God and because of that, You do so much for me that I should be grateful for. “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
Tele-med? Urgent care? WebMd? How about God? No insurance or copay needed and no waiting room. Lord, thank You for being the Great Physician and not only healing me physically but emotionally, mentally and spiritually. "The LORD is my light and my salvation – whom should I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life – whom should I dread?” Psalm 27:1
Life is full of fear and anxiety and worry and uncertainty. However, their is one certainty, God is bigger than anything that we may fear or be anxious about or worry about. Lord, help me to trust You and Your power more than I trust the things that cause me grief. "He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:10-12
Thank God! Literally! Lord, thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross for me so that I don't have to pay for my sins as that would be fair and understandable. “For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
Ask any doctor or nurse who spends time with an individual during the last moments of their life and they will tell you that not one person wishes that they worked more or spent more time at the office. And very few mention that they should have spent more time at the gym or ran more. Lord, help me to keep the main thing the main thing. “Don’t discard me in my old age. As my strength fails, do not abandon me.” Psalm 71:9
When am I too young? When am I too old? When I am just right and ready to do what I am called to do. We are never too young or too old and "the right time" may never come so the answer is NOW! Lord, thank You for using me today and every day that follows. "How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers!” Psalm 1:1
A few Billion people on the planet. A few million people in the United States. A couple hundred thousand within an hour of where we are right now. There is no reason to have bad friends or to settle to hang out with those that aren't making you better. Lord, help me to help all those who need help but also help me to be wise about who are my friends. |
