Enough Is Enough!

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” Philippians.

Don't fall into the trap of focusing on what you don't have instead of seeing ALL that you do have. And don't fall into the bigger trap of seeing what others have that you may not have and being jealous and petty. Stay in your lane. Be thankful and grateful and not greedy and hateful.

Lord, help me to see that I have more than I need and help me to realize I don't need it all and I don't need what you have given to others.

Life Facts 112-115!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

#112 - No one is perfect!
#113 - Asking for forgiveness is helpful!
#114 - God will always forgive!
#115 - We forget 112-115 constantly and that proves the existence of #112!

Lord, help me to remember that I am not perfect, and that if I ask for forgiveness, You will always provide it.

Scared?!

“For I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’” Isaiah 41:13

You have heard me say it before, if you are scared, get a dog. Or better yet, get a God. You can also have both if you want.

Lord, there are a lot of ways to cope with life ... help me to cope with Your help and not hide behind other things that only distract me from truly coping.

All Training!

“Rather, train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, and godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come." 1 Timothy 7-8

All training has benefit! All training requires time and effort and intentionality and sacrifice and mental toughness and resilience and determination.

Lord, help me to train in those things that I value and I value You!

Lord, help me to focus on You and on what I can improve on in my life and not so much on what others are doing.

What if we actually believed this? How different would we be and how different of a world would w live in?

Lord, help me to truly believe this verse to be true.

Do Something!

“Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises.” James 5:13

We should always be doing something. If we are not where we want to be, we can pray and ask for help. When life is great, we should be thankful. And when we find ourselves in the middle, we should pray that we don't find ourselves in a bad place and be thankful that we aren't.

Lord, help me to always be asking for help when needed and be thankful most of the time because I have a lot.

NOT to Be Loved!

“Do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.” 1 John 3:13014

God commands us to Love Him and He also commands us to love others. There is no commandment to be loved by others. When our goal is to be loved by others, our actions are often wrong and self serving. That does not mean that our goal is to be hated by others, but when our goal is to be "liked" or we avoid conflict in order to not be disliked, then we are not loving others the way God wants us to love others.

Lord, help me to avoid loving myself as the first and only commandment.

First Things First!

“…First go and be reconciled with your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:24

First, go and complain to everyone you know for as long as you can trap them to listen to you, even though they don't want to and don't care about your immature drama, and do that for about 5 years and build up a ton of resentment and bitterness and anger toward that person, which probably spills over to other relationships and ends up eating at you and possibly defining you as a bitter and angry person.

Lord, help me to show love and grace and forgiveness and have the courage to face difficult relationships head on with truth to the specific person so that I don't end up like everyone else who avoids the solution for something that isn't a solution.

Why???!!

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

Why is my life not going according to "my plan"? Why do I seem to be lost and not getting what I feel I deserve? Why does my life suck? Maybe because the problem is that it is "my plan" and not "His plan".

Lord, help me to realize that when I seek You, I receive more than what I deserve and when I seek me, I get exactly what I deserve and that isn't a good thing.
