There are a lot of impossible things. We are conditioned to view things as impossible. God doesn't understand impossible. For God, nothing is impossible.
Lord, help me to ask and you will provide possibility in my impossible world.
“For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke 1:37

“I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:104-105
We don't have to know. God knows. We just need to ask. Lord, help me to seek Your wisdom and not rely on my own. “Remember this: the person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not out of regret or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
"For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;" 1 Corinthians 1:26-27
No one likes to be left out. No one likes to be the last one picked. No one likes to be fired. No one likes to be dumped. No one likes to be at the bottom of any list. Those unfortunate experiences happen in life. God has chosen us regardless of how "life" treats us. Lord, thank you for choosing me. "Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!" Isaiah 30:18
Relationships are difficult. The main reason is that they involve people. It is understandable for us to avoid relationships and hide in our bubbles. A relationship with God is different. It doesn't involve people so it is much easier and much better. Lord, I don't have any excuse to not have a relationship with You! “For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.” Romans 6:7-8
We have to die to live. And when we live, we truly live. Lord, thank you for saving me ... from me! "Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." -- 2 Peter 3:18a
We ask students to grow. We ask athletes to improve. We ask kids to mature. We should expect ourselves to continue to grow, improve and mature in our faith and relationship with Jesus. Lord, help me to continue to seek to grow and to know you MORE! “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2
Most people have role models. All role models are very flawed people and we tend to only seek out the positive attributes that they exhibit. Jesus wasn't flawed and He is worth following all of His attributes, especially the manner in which He loved us, which was to die for us. Lord, help me to sacrifice something, anything, to at least attempt to follow what Christ has modeled for me. |
