The summer after my freshman year in college, I worked in a warehouse. About halfway through the summer, an older man who had worked there for decades stopped his forklift in front of me, and asked, "If you died today, would you go to heaven?". I was a fairly new Christian, so I went into my long testimony that included how I accepted Christ, lead FCA at WSU and went to church every Sunday. I even through in a couple Bible verses to impress him more. He was patient and listened and when I was done he said, "That is all great stuff, but none of that will get you to heaven. You could have simply said a few words ... the Grace of JESUS." I learned a valuable lesson about what really matters and what I think matters.
Lord, when in doubt, Jesus is the who, what, when, why and how to every question we may ever have.
